The instruments on this site are free to use. There are no advertisements, no login, nothing behind a paywall and no cookie that follows you. What it costs is mostly time; beyond that, the hosting and the domain.

Why it is set up this way

Anyone who wants to check a text should be able to do so without giving something up first — no address, no attention, no money. That is why every source is listed with its licence on the sources page, why the calendar is computed in your own browser, and why Moria retrieves nothing while you read. That stays so, with or without contributions: a contribution buys no priority, no extra feature and no verdict.

What a contribution does

It pays for the hosting and the domain, and it frees time for the work still waiting: texts to be checked over, instruments to be finished, translations that lag behind. Every contribution is welcome, however small — and anyone who would rather give nothing goes on using the instruments with no objection at all.

Contributions go to a private person and not to a foundation: they are not tax-deductible and nothing is given in return. You get no newsletter. This site keeps none of your details — whatever passes between you and PayPal stays there.
